My understanding is that it was reconditioned at vast expense by a well-known Jaguar specialist in the Gloucestershire area for a customer who subsequently changed his mind. A good used 4.2L straight port cylinder head, looks like it's had a skim recently but might be best to have it done again, the water ways look good as you can see from the pictures. Part number C39200 and head serial number BJ410 no engine number stamped where they usually are indicating this might of been fitted to a 4.2 E Type at some point but it's more than likely to have come from a XJ6 from the C39200 part number stamped on the casting. Classic Jaguar XK straight port cylinder head, believed to be from a 4.2 Mk10 or 420G but should also fit 420, and 4.2 E-types. Condition is fair, there is no corrosion in the waterways, the spark plug threads are good, all studs and threads are fine. There is a little pitting on one or two of the combustion chambers, see the close-up pictures for more detail but nothing serious. All the valves and buckets are present but there is only one camshaft. Ribbed valve covers are not included but are listed separately if you are interested.
