This is a 1978 YZ250E cylinder & head. It correctly fits & works on the 1978 & 1979 YZ250 & the 1979 IT250F. Picked this bike up in pieces. And some moron broke off two fins on this standard bore low hour cylinder with some really nice porting. I received the larger of the two broken off pieces with the cylinder. Can be welded back on. Makes me sick to see vintage parts damaged like this. A hammer with a piece of pine wood used in the intake & exhaust areas would have taken a minute or two longer to break the cylinder loose. This head was removed from my 2007 ZX10R race bike. It is in excellent condition. The head was taken apart, most of the valve clearances were done - I will include the paper the mechanic used. Its got a beautiful porting and knife edge job. The valves were just seated. The cam shafts, guides, are perfect. I would double check all the bolts and torque to spec before installing, and double check the clearances. A suitable head for someone mechanically inclined.
