Magnafluxed and found to be in crack-free condition. Considered rebuildable by my machine shop. According to my HOLLANDER'S interchange manual, this fits 1953 and 1954 228, 248 and 270 engines only. The ports are opened up and reshaped and polished for better gasflow, The combustion chambers are also polished and reshaped for better gas flow and combustion. The head has 35.6mm inlet valves and 29.4mm exhaust valves. New cast iron guides with a tapered nose are fitted and uprated double valve springs with spring seats and 4 valve stem oil seals.
