This is an original pair of GM high performance cylinder heads for Small Block Chevy engines. The casting number on each head is 3927186. This casting is known as a “camel hump” or “camel back” head due to the double humps cast into the ends of the head. The camel hump heads were reserved for the higher performance Small Block Chevy engines. These particular heads have the 1.94 inch intake and 1.50 inch exhaust valves which were used on 350/300HP engines. Chevy also used these heads with the larger 2.02 inch intake and 1.60 inch exhaust valves which were used on the Z/28 302 engines, LT-1 350 engines, and other solid lifter applications. Any competent machine shop can upgrade these heads to the larger valve sizes. These heads have matching casting dates of E 19 9 which decodes as May 19th, 1969. One casting is clearer than the other but they are the same casting number and date. This is a real deal pair of date matched camel hump heads with accessory holes. This is a a real deal matched pair of original heads. Complete with valves, springs, and retainers as shown. They have been disassembled, cleaned, and checked for cracks with no cracks found. The heads were upgraded to screw in rocker studs with guide plates at some point in their life which is great for high performance applications. In fact, in 1970 the screw in studs and guide plates became factory equipment on high performance applications. The intake and exhaust ports are completely stock with no porting or modifications. All threads are in good condition with no thread inserts or helicoils. These are awesome very early production date matched heads. Don’t miss them!
